Would you be able to date a cop? Or someone in the military? How to deal with it emotionally?

Thank you for posting this. My boyfriend works on cars right now, but he wants to go to school to become a cop. I'm terrified because no matter how much bullet proof padding he may have on, something could still get him. But, I think, to him, such a job is something that is protection. They want to feel like they are protecting us. Which is what police and military men do. They protect, and they would die protecting us. Which is a remarkable trait, but I think you should talk to him, say you're worried about him, but you don't expect him to quit. Ask why he does what he does, what provoked him to become an officer. He'll comfort you.
