What are the pros and cons of going into medicine and also of going into business?

I can't decide whether I should be preparing for becoming a surgeon(neurosurgeon) or going into business(CEO hopefully). My parents want me to go for something that's not hectic, like a software engineer, lawyer, architect, and such. My options are pretty open, but I really want a high-paying job so I can make something of myself. Any advice is appreciated...
